If you had no fear, what would you create?
Updated: Nov 19, 2021
I heard somewhere long ago, that there are really only two emotions: love and fear, and that all other emotions were variations on those themes. So often in life we find ourselves “in love” and or “in fear” and I have always been fascinated with how we dismiss the power of both to shape our art and indeed, our lives.
When it comes to creating art, I periodically engage in an epic battle royal between the two— love of creation, and fear of failure or rejection. Over the years I have experienced wonderful successes and painful failures and the one thing that stands out to me is how, along the way, I have found wisdom, strength, comfort and hope from the people around me.
To that end, I have created this blog with the intention of giving back. Of sharing my own experiences with pushing past fear and embracing love to facilitate creation, as well tips, tricks and various wisdoms I have gathered from people along the way.
I am not entirely sure where this will lead me, and I sincerely hope that you will join me here in examining the power of love and fear in our lives, and learning to use them both to propel you forward in your own experiences of creation.
Ask yourself: if you had no fear, what would you create?
