Mission Statement
As modern times find us with fewer and fewer opportunities to spend time in creative spaces (literally and figuratively), we find ourselves more and more alienated from our higher selves. Our work has become sedentary. Our days are filled with the literal noise of bustling cities. Our lives are filled with the constant mental distraction of digital chaos via our beloved phones, televisions and computer screens. Fewer and fewer opportunities to find quiet spaces in our daily lives, disconnects us from our infinite divine energy, leaving us feeling exhausted, hopeless, powerless and often depressed. Sometimes we turn to quick fixes like drugs and alcohol that seem to be short cuts to quieting the mind, but are artificial and can become destructive.
When we do things that quiet our minds and put us more fully into our bodies, things like exercise, having sex, meditating, or creating things that integrate our bodies and our minds, like cooking, baking, painting, drawing, writing, knitting, gardening, we are able to better experience--to feel our infinite selves, our divine energy. That all knowing, divine life source that is the animation of all living things is also us, and that is why there is great peace, great power and great joy in cultivating a daily connection to it.
The purpose of this retreat is to spend the weekend exploring ways to break some of those patterns. To help us see and remind us of our higher selves, to celebrate the history of our creative feminine energy and its power to overcome the chaos, noise, and stress of modern life on Earth. To explore and cultivate ways to incorporate daily rituals that serve to quiet our minds so that we may more fully experience the peace, power and joy that is our infinite selves.
